Our Partners

The Organ and Tissue Authority (OTA) works in partnership with many stakeholders to optimise organ and tissue donation for transplantation.

Our partners include eye and tissue banks, community organisations and the corporate and business sector that each plays an important role in contributing to Australia’s national reform program.

Eye and Tissue Banks

Eye and tissue donation can make the difference between seeing and being blind, mobility and never walking again, or a speedy rather than protracted recovery from trauma, cancer or disease. There are often 20-30 recipients who benefit from one multi-tissue donor.

Eye and tissue banks provide significant benefits within the health sector. The eye and tissue sector is the largest donation and transplantation sector in Australia, with a significantly higher number of referrals compared to solid organ referrals.
